A central aim of my work is the metaphorical distillation of the core message of a problem or a fragment of reality. I understand metaphor as “what is meant in a figurative sense” - that is, the non-literal meaning of a statement. The works are predominantly critical of society, with the exploration and representation of polarities forming a key aspect of my artistic intention.
Opposites such as life and death, love and hate, freedom and oppression, poverty and wealth, power and powerlessness, or hope and resignation are themes I seek to highlight through various artistic means. The structures of our reality are embedded in surreal contexts and thus “frozen” as snapshots in time.

Als wesentliches Ziel meiner Arbeiten sehe ich die metaphorische Verdichtung der Kernaussage eines Problems oder eines Ausschnittes der Wirklichkeit. Als Metapher verstehe ich das „im übertragenen Sinn Gemeinte“, also die nicht wörtliche Bedeutung einer Aussage. Die Werke sind vorwiegend gesellschaftskritisch, wobei die Aufarbeitung und Darstellung von Polaritäten als ein wesentlicher Aspekt meiner malerischen Intentionen gesehen werden kann.
Gegensätze wie Leben und Tod, Liebe und Hass, Freiheit und Unterdrückung, Armut und Reichtum, Macht und Ohnmacht oder auch Hoffnung und Resignation will ich mit unterschiedlichen künstlerischen Mitteln darstellen und hervorheben. Die Zusammenhänge unserer Wirklichkeit werden in irreale Kontexte eingebettet und so als Momentaufnahmen „eingefroren“.
